Henk Ship Models

I’m Henk van Luinen. Building historical ship models has become one of my greatest passions, alongside my wife Pauline and our family. After completing two earlier models, I began my most ambitious project: a fully scratch-built HMS Victory at 1:48 scale. Every component is made by hand.

I use different natural woods to create the colour. The ship is not painted, so the model’s construction and anatomy remain clearly visible.

Alongside HMS Victory, I also work on smaller model-building projects. The build logs and photo galleries on this website document the progress, techniques and individual components. I hope you enjoy following the work as much as I enjoy building it.
